ST7045/ST7049 - Colorizing TN LCD Driver

A new era of the colorizing TN LCD is coming silently. The Sitronix¡¦s Palette Driver (ST7045/ ST7049) integrate the color sequential concept into the LCD diver ICs. The Palette Driver displays can show color images by combining a black-and-white TN panel and tricolor back-lighting. We divide the color picture into three R, G, B sub-picture, and show the sub-picture in order with R, G, B back-light. Then sub-picture will be made a group to a color picture in the human brain. So the Palette Driver displays don¡¦t need the color filter, and the displays can reduce material cost, production cost and power consumption. So the Palette Driver display has the advantage in low power consumption and low cost demand. Create a good and inexpensive new-type colored display.

Features
The ST7045 & ST7049 are the palette driver & controller LSI for graphic dot-matrix liquid crystal display systems. The ST7045 contains 320 segment / 1 common driver circuits, the ST7049 contains 320 segment / 4 common driver circuits. The chips are connected directly to a microprocessor, accepts 4-line/3-line serial peripheral interface (SPI) and 8080 parallel interface, display data can stores in an on-chip display data RAM. They perform display data RAM read/write operation with no external operating clock to minimize power consumption. In addition, They also can produce LEDR, LEDG, LEDB control signals to generator RGB LED backlight system if necessary.
